Front End Developer

Community Engine is an Australian owned software development company that is building the next generation of Social Networking Products.  With a head office in the Northern Beaches of Sydney, the company has embarked on a significant growth phase.  With strong demand for a number of exciting new products in the pipeline, we are looking for some outstanding new talent to join our team. 

About You:

  • We’re looking for a Front-end Developer, with at least 5 years experience building web applications with Microsoft technologies. 
  • Need to be a team player, but able to work autonomously
  • Believe that development is a highly creative process
  • Believe that user-experience is what it’s all about
  • Believe that the quality of your work and working with like minded people, is the main reward
  • Maintain your knowledge by following industry blogs, podcasts and whitepapers
  • Read technical journals thoroughly, gaining a deep understanding of the technologies and how to apply them
  • Want to work on projects that can change things for the better
  • At Community Engine we embrace standards, patterns and practices, and we’re looking for a front-end developer who does the same, and does it with a high level of creative thinking. 

About the Role:

  • You will be required to develop semantically amazing X/HTML & CSS
  • W3C web standards and WCAG accessibility standards
  • A strong understanding of SEO and how to optimise for it
  • A solid appreciation of the limitations of IE6, and how to work around it
  • Some CMS experience (Kentico, SiteCore and others)
  • Awesome JavaScript, incredible interface transitions and enhancements and AJAX with JQuery & you will know what JSON is
  • It would be great if you’ve worked in Microsoft Visual Studio including Team System, but don’t worry if you haven’t
