Information Architect

Community Engine is an Australian owned software company that is building the next generation of Social Media products.  With strong demand for a number of exciting new products, Community Engine is growing.  We are looking for an Information Architect to join our team.  The role is located in the Northern Beaches of Sydney (Brookvale).  It is a permanent role with an immediate start.

About the Role:

  • To design, lead, research, analyse and test user centered activities and apply the findings into cohesive site maps, information architectures, wireframes, personas, user journeys, and functional specifications for web sites and applications.
  • Work with business stakeholders, product and marketing managers and project managers to define the user interface requirements for new and enhanced online products and services.
  • Work with technology specialists to ensure the user interface requirements are optimised for the web presentation technical environment.
  • Create conceptual sketches & wireframe diagrams, specification documents, client presentations of deliverables.
  • Prototype, design, and test interfaces for websites, mobile devices, and content management systems.
  • Produce site user profiles, navigational flows, template wireframes, user test documentation.
  • Develop detailed wireframes that capture the user interface requirements with sufficient detail for software developers to interpret and build unambiguously.
  • Undertake post implementation analysis and review to assess the success in meeting user and customer needs.
  • Keep abreast of developments in the User Experience and Information Architecture communities and ensure industry best practice is adopted and applied to all online projects

 

About You:

  • Minimum of 4 years’ industry experience as an Information Architect with experience in interaction design, information architecture, usability, personas and user scenarios (digital agency experience preferred)
  • Ability to lead user-centred design initiatives from inception through implementation
  • Ability to collaborate with cross functional teams of designers, strategists, managers, and technologists
  • Ability to run UX workshops and communicate IA design rationale to internal team as well as clients
  • Ability to address user needs in the context of business goals, branding and other requirements
  • Experience of working in an Agile environment.
  • Ability to prioritise and communicate well with designers, business stakeholders and developers.
  • Solid commercial and technical knowledge of HTML, use of CSS for page layouts, XHTML, RSS, Javascript, AJAX, and emerging standards based web technology and internet viewing devices.
  • Expert at diagramming software for creation of concept sketches and Wireframes
